Explore Our Coast

Georgia’s coast has seventeen barrier islands, only four of which are developed and accessible by bridge leaving the others in their natural state. The untouched islands are covered mostly by maritime forest, ever changing marshland, streams and pristine beaches. Our coast is a true hidden treasure for all to discover.

Our area is made up of Brunswick, GA which is considered the mainland and Georgia coastal barrier islands which are Jekyll Island, Saint Simon’s Island and Sea Island. Brunswick is home to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and is also home to the Brunswick Port. Jekyll Island which is rich in history and used as a vacation spot for some of America’s most influential families is now overseen by the Jekyll Island Authority. Saint Simon’s Island is one of the largest island of the Golden Isles. Saint Simon’s is considered a resort community made up of several golf courses and seasonal rentals with a population of over thirteen thousand.

The area is rich in history from prehistoric Indians living off the land, explorers searching for gold, old plantation era homes to millionaires creating their own summer retreats. Our beautiful coastline has many stories to tell from within.
